Colony House rocked the Brady Theater on Thursday, March 14th,where they accompanied fellow rock band Switchfoot on their Native Tongue tour. Tulsa was the seventh stop on their trip around the U.S. and they did not disappoint. They are no stranger to this town, - In 2017, they came and played down the street at The Vanguard in 2017 for their own tour.

Colony House has had a great ride, having put out 3 albums with my favorite being “Only the Lonely”. Band members Caleb Chapman (front man/singer), Will Chapman (drummer), Scott Mills (guitarist), and Parke Cottrell (bassist) each share the soul of the performance they put on. Much of what their music means has come from their own experiences and love for their wives.

The show was easily one of my favorites; my friend and I joined the other on the floor and tired to get as close as we could get. Walking out onto the stage, each member was enthusiastically singing the latest single “Silhouettes”; the crowd started to warm up listening to the rock ballad.

I was one of the few who seemed to know all of the songs they played, jumping and banging my head in rhythm. People around moved to give more room to let me enjoy myself while singing along. The show continued with other track like “Was It Me”, “Cannot Do This Alone”, “Caught Me By Surprise”, and “You & I.”

Brothers Caleb and Will Chapman shared a tender moment during the song “Waiting for My Time to Come” as they reflected on how far the band has come from their early days. Pointing out that even though it gets tough at times, they’re all family (literally for Caleb and Will). As they hugged it out, thanks came from Caleb.

“When we play our music, we dream about hearing it in an arena one day.”

I hope to hear them play arena’s, where the music booms loud and the crowd cheers even louder.
